The “NTSB” in Hong Kong

For aviation students, we might have heard the NTSB, an independent U.S. government investigative agency responsible for civil transportation accident investigation.

The “NTSB” in Hong Kong is the Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA), which is established on 10 September 2018. The AAIA is a new and independent authority established under the Transport and Housing Bureau (THB) for the conduct of aviation safety investigations in line with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) and international investigation best practice.
